"Above All Things I Believe in Love"

1 Cor. 13:13 “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

I’m telling you, the truth of God’s Kingdom is spread far and wide, and appears in the most unlikely of places… Look at this interchange from and early scene of the movie “Moulin Rouge”:

“Do you believe in freedom?”

“Yes.”

“Beauty?”

“Yes, of course!”

“Truth, love?”

“Love? Above all things I believe in love. Love is like oxygen.”

* * * *
Like I said… God’s message is everywhere, even in the most unlikely of places.

Hi Mel,
I am so glad that I finally managed to visit the land of blog and you today!

I have been smitten with the flu (not swine - thank the Lord!) and have been studying for an upcoming Law exam.

Ah, yes, isn't the love of God amazing! And... not to mention that He is the same yesterday, today and forever!

I was out looking at my yard this morning and thinking of how much love God has for us and now, to read your post, it is a wonderful confirmation.

I thank God for you and the ability you have to share the scriptures which bring life ~ and life MORE abundantly!

love in Christ,

Danielle

Hi Mel,

Yes indeed...we serve an awesome and loving God. I like this post, it is true that God is everywhere! Even those that don't profess Him openly are encountering him in their daily lives. I find such incredible hope in that! It seems with each passing year I come to appreciate the wonder of God in nature, just the green of the trees and grass and the blue sky and waters.

I like the quote from Moulin Rouge (and LOVED the movie too). It just demonstrates how God is even in pop culture when people don't even realize it.

Your picture is beautiful...I love those lilacs! I think it's so neat that you have roots in MN too, such a small world we live in. I have lived here all of my life and love the beauty and changing seasons. Those winters sure do seem to get colder each year though!

Have a blessed day. God loves you!

Hi Danielle,

I'm so glad you were able to stop by today, too! What a blessing! :) Your comments are always so real and so meaningful. I'm glad you didn't come down with the swine flu, and I hope that your comment here today means that you're feeling much better.

Your comment was particularly encouraging to me. Many blessings to you today and always, my Sister! :)

Hi Trudy,

You are very perceptive. You totally got the whole point of my post, that God's message is everywhere and in everything if we only have eyes to see it, even in pop culture... There's no putting our amazing God in a box, that's for sure!

Have a great day! I pray the move is going well!

Hi Laura,

Thanks so much for the encouraging words about my pictures. I'm trying...

I need to pay more attention to my surroundings, too. I have seen the movie several times before, and I don't remember being so impacted by that particular scene before.

Have a fabulous day!

Hi Mel:)

Your caption says it all. This is a very inspiring post.

God so loved the world that HE sent HIS only begotten Son to save us.

I know this is not the exact quote.

This is the first time I am seeing Lilacs although I read a poetry When Lilacs First Bloomed in the Courtyard. I don't remember the name of the poet. I was wondering about the flower Lilac. Only now I got a chance to see it.

Have a nice day Mel:)

Hi Joseph! :)

God's love is the source of all love, and I'm glad that you quoted that verse in your comment. There is no love on earth that compares with God's love for us and for His Creation.

The photo in this post is actually not of lilacs, but of some other type of flowering tree. The picture of the lilacs that Trudy was referring to is the first picture in my post from May 24, 2009, called "Thank God for my Husband."

Thank you again for your faithful commenting. It makes such a huge difference. :)

Many blessings to you and yours,
Mel
